So I got my swimsuit on and began to teach myself how to do a 1 ½ front flip on my diving board into my pool. I kept trying and trying to get this one and a half flip, but I just couldn't get the rotation I needed. After about an hour of smacking my face into the water, I was ready to call it quits. I was so frustrated because of how close I was to hitting it. Then about ten minutes later, I told myself to relax and try tomorrow. So the next morning, I ate breakfast, brushed my teeth, and started trying it again. And for some reason, I hit it perfectly on my first try! I was so excited, I ran into the house to tell my parents what I taught myself to do. It is one of the coolest things I've ever done on my own.
Looking back at this great experience really showed how dedication can lead to success. I’d never even thought of a 1 ½ front flip before! Teaching yourself to do something can be extremely difficult and a lot of people just give up. But if they just keep trying at it, sooner or later it will come. I kept at it and success followed. There is something about teaching yourself how to do something, and the feeling after you accomplish it is incredible!
